Didn't hear about that. I'm guessing he was ill or just physically unable?
He said just the other day he was going to enjoy it from home. He probably wasn’t in good health. He came from that era that didn’t talk about themselves. He and Hank Aaron were cut from the same cloth. Just went about their business and dominated.

Love ya Willie…lost the greatest alive and one of the greatest ever tonight!!! Here are some Mays cards for you guys to gander at.View attachment 650380

He is a great Baseball player that is 1 of a kind much like Mario Lemieux, Wayne Gretzky, Jackie Robinson, etc.

A very sad day that a legendary Baseball player that played for the New York Giants and same team after the move that is the San Francisco Giants has departed.

This one hurts. If someone wants to call Willie the greatest, it is hard to argue. Saw him at Giants games often when he was in his 70s into his 80s.
Crazy that he and Hank almost become Giants together. I think it was something like an extra $50/month the Braves offered and that was the difference between having the greatest athletic duo of all-time. And they probably would have stayed with each other for their entire careers.
