The Dugout - General Topics, Chat, Random Photos and Memes.......No Politics

Just saw Deadpool & Wolverine in theaters. Man what an entertaining movie. The “Merc with a Mouth” and Logan do not disappoint. Raunchy, funny, TONS of action, great cameos, constantly bashing Marvel and Disney even though they are in a Marvel Studios movie, love the breaking of the 4th wall, and my goodness I will never hear *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye” the same ever again 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Just all around I think they nailed this movie. It’s exactly what Marvel needed after their run of lackluster movies post-End Game. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman looked like they had a lot of fun making that movie and their chemistry together is off the charts. They truly are brothers separated at birth. Sometimes there are actors that are just meant for certain roles and those two play those characters better than anyone I could imagine. Bravo gentlemen 👏
Still waiting on the release of John Wick 4.

Chances are one of those prospects will become their next superstar but they will trade him to a big market team because they won’t want to pay him. Just think of all the great young Marlins over the years and where they ended up. It’s a shame they have owners that never want to spend money.

Thx, So they already released the movie? Have you seen it?
No I’m waiting for it to hit streaming. I was going to see it in theaters whenever it came out but never got around to it for some reason. I loved the first three movies though. I love me some Keanu Reeves movies.

GTFO of here. No way?
Way.

Sheer luck, as I said. My boss and her husband had awesome season tickets close to the dugout on the first base line. And something big came up that afternoon (had to have been BIG), and she gave them to me. I figured he'd give them to one of his bros. I think it was a bribe to work some weekends or something. Or maybe she was just playing the big shot, which she loved to do. Anyway it pretty much did prove they were big shots 😂

Looks like you can buy it on digital from Amazon for $9.99 down from $19.99. At least that’s what it is showing through my account. Additionally, if you subscribe to STARZ, it is streaming there currently.

Cool story, bro. ;)

Those John Wick movies fascinate me. The fight scenes blow my mind. I was watching a little bit of #3 the other night & he got run over by a car & got right back up & beat the crap out of the guy. I'll just wait until it comes on TV.

Little known fact. I saw Maddux pitch once in a late 90s playoff game. My only MLB game. Sheer luck.
He was extremely unlucky one postseason in 1996. Pitched nearly 40 innings and only gave up 7 earned runs but allowed 14 runs overall due to defense. There was another NLCS in 1997 in which he only gave up 2 earned runs but allowed 7 runs overall, once again due to defense and ended up with an 0-2 record with a 1.38 ERA for the NLCS. Many people may not even realize he has a losing record in the postseason even though he boasts a career 3.27 ERA in the playoffs over nearly 200 innings pitched. Just goes to show win-loss records don’t mean squat whenever it comes to pitchers.

I couldn’t remember the exact numbers but I remember rewatching some of those games. I remembered it was 1996 and 1997 because we had teams capable of multiple World Series in a row but luck wasn’t on our side. I was only 5 and 6 at the time whenever those games were played so I only remember watching them and not really any results. I went back and watched them whenever YouTube became a thing.
