The Dugout - General Topics, Chat, Random Photos and Memes.......No Politics

The Big 10 is hellbent on having their top games kickoff at noon. They know they can’t compete with the SEC prime time slots.
This was the week though…they didn’t want to penalize their favorite Ohio St…the biggest Sec game isn’t that great this week…Big Ten failed yet again and put Iowa-Wisconsin on at night..lol

Any questions….Big Ten bending the Sec over….

The SEC deal is roughly worth $3 billion over 10 years. The Big10 deal with Fox, NBC and CBS is worth $8 billion over 7 years. Under the league's new
deal, each Big10 member should get a /minimum/ of $80 million per year--and it could be higher.
Sankey you suck!

Big Ten did good with their TV actually…they get Fox,CBS, and NBC money while Sec is being held hostage by one network and is causing us not going to 9 game conference regular season.
ESPN has a wide assortment of channels though. Also they are about to be direct to consumer. Both conferences did what is best for them but I still think the Disney deal is more valuable. ESPN is a master marketing machine. Disney also has Hulu and there are a lot of people subscribing to that as additional marketing. The Big 10 may have more networks but the SEC is getting on a lot more eyeballs.
