Im starting to try to figure what our best possible realistic avenue could be. Chaos could help other teams and not us so I’m not sure I want a ton of chaos. I want good teams playing other good teams while we get the best draw possible.Probably right. I’m just rooting for as much chaos as possible outside of the Vols. This really does have a 2007 vibe to it. Very good chance the national champion has 2 losses this year.
The best path would be getting the 5 seed and playing the Group of 5 representative and BYU or Big 12 Champ back to back weeks. It’s almost more of a reward to be the 5 seed than it is to get one of those top 3 seeds.Im starting to try to figure what our best possible realistic avenue could be. Blame my Bears…because Washington sucks and we let them off the hookBad news for Cowboys and Eagles. The Commaders are the “it team” in the division now.

Some players have privately stated or told their agents they want to be traded to the Commanders, sources told ESPN.www.espn.com
Yes but we have no real plausible way of getting the 5 seed. I think the only way we are 5th without complete chaos is if we are 11-1 going into the SEC Championship and lose. I don’t think they will penalize the runner up of the SEC and Big 10. It will come down to who has the best résumé between those runner ups. Only scenario where it is a slam dunk imo is an undefeated Oregon losing in the Big 10 Championship. They would certainly get the 5 seed. Other than that all bets are off.Yes but we have no real plausible way of getting the 5 seed. Here are our 3 scenarios:
Win out…1 or 2 overall seed
Lose in Sec Title game: Slight chance at 5 but more like 6-8 seed with a guaranteed home playoff game
10-2…8-11 seed in all probability
Hard to think Ohio St-Oregon loser isnt awarded that…you spoke on Oregon…but they aren’t going to penalize Ohio St for losing to the #1 team in the country twiceI think the only way we are 5th without complete chaos is if we are 11-1 going into the SEC Championship and lose. Depends on what the margin is on a neutral field. I just think they would defer to the SEC team with 2 losses over the Big Ten team due to the SOS of the conference. It’s a pretty wide gulf in the competition whenever you compare SOS of the conferences. There are 13 SEC teams with a better SOS than Ohio State and 7 of the top 10 SOS reside in the SEC. And since there isn’t a head to head to go off of you can look at how Texas and Alabama handled their Big Ten matchups. They weren’t even competitive and both of those games were played at the Big Ten school.Hard to think Ohio St-Oregon loser isnt awarded that…you spoke on Oregon…but they aren’t going to penalize Ohio St for losing to the #1 team in the country twice
I've only seen the conference schedule.Do we know who Tennessee plays opening weekend in baseball yet?
Y’all are completely glossing over Vandy. If Pavia stays healthy they are a dangerous team. Tennessee is their Super Bowl. And we play at their house not ours. Vols could easily end with three losses the way we have been playing. At this point the biggest things we need to happen within the SEC is beat Georgia, Alabama wins out, A&M beats Texas. We would be the regular season champs and would play A&M in the championship game for an opportunity of the automatic bye.
