I believe that an O-lineman who was unable to became available for Tenn game. I think there were 2 other position players, one on O and on on D that were activated. So Tenn saw a better team than UGA had for the last few weeks and that's why Beck had so much time and played one of his better games this year.

Pundits have also said, as a result of team strength now vs then that the selection committee should account for that. Kirby mentioned that too with his comment about the SEC being so much better that it should benefit SEC teams, but that's up to the committee in "some room somewhere".
