Yep. Really thought our fortunes had finally changed for the better. We'd been wandering in the wilderness since Rod with little to be excited about. Won't lie. When Serrano couldn't get it done, I was fearing the worst for our baseball program. No way no how did I ever imagine we'd be where we are as a program in baseball. Just incredible to this old mind.

Unfortunately back in the 1970s Karen never made it over here to W.TN or I would have gone to see here live in concert. Artists like her always made the stop in Memphis. I became an instant fan of hers when the 1970 song "Close To you" was released.

Our little stadium has come such a long, long way. I remember my first game in LNS in 2008. Those stinking picnic tables down the left field line.

I was so sad to learn that day she passed away in 1983 & I still miss her.
Thank God we still have her on music video to enjoy.
