The 'experts' always say that about a minority hire. Remember Sylvester Croom and Sidney Lowe? They always gush uncontrollably about such a hire whether the university did it voluntarily or was pressured into making the hire.
For a 'great' hire, Cuonzo certainly hasn't gotten things off with a bang. So far, he's lost us Chris Jones and Kevin Ware and he hasn't yet made any impressive staffing hires. So, I don't see any impending greatness yet. He did a great job at MO State, but the Missouri Valley Conference ain't the SEC. And you can't beat Calipari, Donovan, and Stallings without landing at least a few great recruits.
Greatness is earned, not bestowed.
