It was sad sitting in Neyland stadium as fans starting leaving in the 3rd quarter and by the early 4th quarter Auburn fans had taken over Neyland stadium.

What hurt even more with the fans leaving was all the high profile recruits in the house, Jackson, Sharpe, Malone, Lamin and etc., may not sit well with some recruits like Malone when your stadium gets taken over by another teams fans.

I know put a better product on the field blah blah blah, but unless your Alabama your not going to get away with paying recruits, ask Mo, so the only way to really put a better product on the field is recruiting better which I think we are but when prospects see our stadium emptying what do you believe they are thinking. Yes I know we got a commit but not a high profile commit.

The future of this program is recruiting and Jackson, Malone and Lamin could start from day 1, so I do not know why some people cant put in 4 hours at a home game. I know the excuses drove a long way, getting beat and all that bs.

I know a lot of people say they are just passionate about the program and they have a right to criticize players and coaches and blah blah blah. that is great you think you are a passionate fan now prove in 2 weeks.

See Mattscantland's post, because he is so done too. Everyteam, almost every team has fans leaving, heck, Saban had to put out a message for His fans to stay in the stadium, and they are #1!! Fans are fickle and human.

We as fans expect our Vols to give 110% the whole game but yet most will get up and leave as soon as they can. Either stay and give our team 110% or give your tickets to someone that will appreciate the chance to be there.

It's physically impossible to give 110% effort.....just sayin.

I guess the fans looks at it as if the team gives 110% like they did with Ga & USCe they hang around and give 110% but when the team quits like they did against AU then the fans needs to stick around and continue to give 110% ?

Did not realize the OP was in the game yesterday.

The players and coaches receive benefits from playing games. The fans pay for the opportunity to see them play games. Since the fans are the customers and the customers are always right - they really can do whatever they want to do. If the entertainment is bad they have the right to leave when they choose to do so.

Why should the fans put in more effort than many of the players on the field?

No amount of yelling and screaming will bring them back from 32 points with 4 minutes left in the 4th. Might as well get ahead of the traffic

If the vols would even give 90% I would stay and watch.

The whole "give 110%" BS is the most moronic expression in sports.

I do agree with fans leaving though, pretty F'n weak. Stay till the end.

I'm not gonna blame anyone for leaving that game early yesterday. The fans have shown up for the last 5, almost 6 abysmal years now. They're probably tired of spending hundreds of dollars to watch a quarter of competitive football.

Why do they quit every time it's a big loss? Ever thought the other team is that much better?

I guess LSU quit then last night.

This team is lucky that it's more than 50,000 that show up

Anyone that truly "appreciate the chance to be there" would buy a ticket. There not hard to buy. Put your money where your mouth is.

I traveled 200+ miles to the game and stayed to the bitter end and always do but I was pretty disappointed that so many "fans" decided to go before the 4th quarter started. Auburn fans were actually doing a cheer until the guys fired up the rap music again. That music needs to go, too! I used to enjoy annoying the opponent by playing "Rocky Top" at least 30 times per game!

GO VOLS!!!

If you bought tickets to a concert and the band sucked do you feel obligated to stay? I'm not one to usually leave early but that's my choice. I don't understand how some fans have the nerve to tell other people what to do with the tickets they paid for. What's even worse is the "give your ticket to someone else " argument. Who would spend their hard earned money on tickets and then just hand them over.

So easy to rationalize your own behavior an find fault with others. Either be a true fan or not, I don't care. But don't rationalize your commitment level and criticize the team for your perception of theirs.
