What are your thoughts on the Jeff and Jeff Fight and Hendrick replacing the #48 crew with the #24 crew mid race?

Don't have a problem with either though it was more of a push than a fight. Those guys get paid to perform and the RF tire changer killed his team all day.

I'm actually glad to see that Gordon still has some fire in him and cares enough to get mad.

it's good for the sport to see them getting in fights. If i'm on the 48 crew and did my job right the whole day i would be pissed.

Maybe settling disputes in steel cage outside the NASCAR trailer with a trash barrel full of everyday items that can be used as weapons would help ratings.

What happens to the 48 team is the question. If the 24 crew stays with the 48, does the old 48 crew pit the 24 or do they get let go? If they are fired who picks them up? Maybe Kevin picks them up to pit his NNS effort?

The Gordon/Burton wreck was just strange. I can see why JG lost his mind. Its just hard to believe Burton could screw up that bad.

I think they work on it this week and everyone goes back to their regular position. It should be served as a wake up call to those guys to perform at the highest level or they will be replaced. I didn't feel sorry for them because it is no different than yanking a pitcher that gets rocked in the first three innings. It doesn't mean that pitcher won't come back in their next start and pitch a shutout. Sometimes people just have bad days.

so, the 48 crew has one bad race and they're being thrown under the bus?

that seems petty

It looked to me like Gordon might have tried to throw a punch or two. Maybe not, but I think it was probably the closest thing to a real fight since the Allison-Yarborough deal in '79.

And the swapping of the crews I have somewhat of a problem with. I see why it was done, but it just doesn't seem right for one team to be able to totally switch crews with another team (even if it is a teammate) in the middle of a race. I can see switching one or two maybe, but the WHOLE team? It seems to me that there should be some kind of a rule against that.

I don't see a problem with changing crews, the 48 crew almost surely will go to the 24 car.

As far as the so called fight, I don't think NASCAR should do anything to either driver, and I don't believe they will.

The 24 pit crew is not nearly as good as the 48 crew. They've cost Jeff a couple of races this season.

there's always someone on the 24 crew that screws up when the race is on the line. It'll happen again with Johnson.

That's usually Steve Letarte and he isn't replacing Knaus. To be honest though, I'm starting to wonder if it is more on Gordon getting older and less on his crew. The guy hasn't won a race in forever and at some point you have to look at the driver. For the record, I'm a Gordon fan so I'm not trying to bash him, just trying to be honest about what I see.

I'm not talking strategy. We all know Letarte has cost Gordon races but i'm talking about the actual pit crew. They've messed Gordon up a good bit this year with errors on the pit stops. I pay attention to it more than others because i'm a big Gordon fan. When you come in pit road in the top 3 and come out outside the top 7 it's the pit crew.

I watch Gordon too and a lot of times he is held up on pit road when their team is making a big adjustment on his car because Jeff is complaining it is too tight or too loose.
