The fight in Bobby Maze.

everyone quit worrying.. we walked into a terrible situation where an improving team caught us off guard and put everything together. we were their kansas, it feels good to me to be one of the biggest games on someone's schedule. we are a better team than that, and we will improve from this loss. the vandy game on tuesday is HUGE followed by another huge Gator game, hopefully we put something together and get another streak going

I got into a friendly argument with a friend's husband yesterday because he said "That Bobby Maze guy is horrible...he sucks."

I was not happy. We went around and around before I finally said "I'd like to see you out play him."

He was one of the only ones that showed real fire and passion yesterday! I am continually impressed by him!

That doesn't change the reality of it.

I have always felt that as baseball players should field and hit,, basketball players should rebound and shoot. Things generally work out better when this happens.

I respect your knowledge and opinions Papa, but as a writer and creator, I assign voices, from cartoon characters manily, to most of the posters on here.

MHF, God love him, sounds like Elmer Fudd.

Hatvol sounds like Bugs Bunny when he's being snide.

Bammer987 = Donald Duck.

Bigorangefever screaming and shooting like Yosemite Sam.

Vol_freak rings true through Montgomery Burns.

I'm sure I sound like Mickey Mouse with all my unabashed optimism and support of all things Bruce.....

But, you sir, echo the most clearly. With all due respect, you resonate like Eyeore floating down the river on your back, squinting at the bright, birght sky and ruminating existentially in a fugue state, through the Hundred Acre Woods....

Just thought I would share that bit of bizarre with you:post-4-1090547957::weird:.

Just Curious Paps, what is the reality of the fight in bobby maze?

I'm definitely not trying to answer for BPV, he can handle that, but if you are in an arguement and have to end it by saying "I'd like to see you outplay him" you probably didn't win.

The lack of ability to outplay someone does not preclude you from being able to recognize deficiency. If Maze tries harder than anyone on the court and still can't contain his opponent, the reality is that he isn't a good defender. No amount of effort, or "fight" can change that.

I responded to a point about whether Maze sucks, not whether he has fight.

I don't know if you've heard of Kamikazes, but they had a lot of fight too. However, they died for their losing cause because their outfit wasn't good enough to keep us from kicking their teeth off of every island ****hole in the SE Pacific.

I had to laugh at the 'Eyeore' line....

Hope your day is going well BPV...:hi:

Cool analogy, nuking millions of people. Let's not lose focus here paps. Simple solution. Bone guards the quicker of the opositions 2 guards. And Bobby does what he does. Bobby has come a long way in terms of production. The Defensive performance(or lack thereof) wasn't soley on #3. And yes, he showed the most will to win. (BTW that's the same will to win that Naysayers were crediting for the KU and OleMiss wins) MY POINT- If 3-5 other guys had the fire inside them that BMaze showed, we lose a close game. Will doesn't make the ball go in, but it gets you 5-7 more stops and a couple more rebounds both on both sides.

Why were we letting Tyler handle the point on O if Maze's skill and fire could get it done? and forget the defensive end.

Where did I mention nuking anyone? We never nuked any of the islands I'm talking about. Maybe some history brush up would help illuminate the point that I was making.

I thought it was funny too, but I believe he's reading too much into my user name by equating it with age.

"It makes no sense to be in a hurry. The sooner you get there, the sooner they ask you to leave", quoth Eyeore.

We got that point guard from Memphis, Chris Jones. Hope this makes you just a little bit happy today!

Just saw maze chatting up a girl in the UC. I liked the initiative and persistence he showed. His tattoos are much more impressive up close.

It does, but it's tough when '11 is so far away and allegiance doesn't exist.

We're now in it for two very good potential PGs. We need it. PG situation has killed since Watson graduated.

This is very true.

He took a chance on Ramar and got thugged.

He thought he had Selby and he got Worldwide We$$$ed.

Now we love a guy from Atlanta and a guy from Memphis who could actually allow us to press effectively and also play great halfcourt defense and offense when needed, and we may get neither guy.

Then again, some on this board said we would not get Tobias Harris...
