We can't really judge our secondary, until we see them against Florida's backup QB. Then we'll truly know.

Yes. McCoy is a legit star. He was a freshman All American last season and is only a sophomore. Thats HUGE. HUGE at corner in the SEC. He will likely make All SEC this season, in his 1st season in the league.

Dale Carter, Eric Berry, and Deon Grant were all safeties. The 1st 2 were 1st team AA twice each. Dale was also 1st team AA as a kick returner and lead the nation with almost 30 yards per return for the season (29.6 IIRC?) Dale is the best athlete to play at UT in my lifetime and the only DB more decorated than Berry. He was also an All-Pro in the NFL like Berry as well. Amazing athlete, every bit as good as Deion Sanders (better IMO) they played at the same time.

McCoy may end up as the best corner at UT in decades. Our best guys have been safeties for whatever reason. We had Terry Fair, Cam Sutton and others...i think McCoy can be as good as those guys. He is probably bigger than any of our best corners in the modern era too. Hes a big dude for a DB, could play safety if he wanted to. Better off and more $$$ as a shutdown corner though.

SEC WRs are getting bigger too. Our 3 best outside WRs in Bru, Thornton and Brazzell are ALL 6ft4in or taller. Hahaha. Thats HUGE. Matthews and Squirrel are smaller but great athletes. Our 2nd team guys in Nimrod, Webb etc are pretty big/tall as well. We will lose Bru and Donte this year...expect Matthews and probably Brazzell to start outside next season IMO. We may grab a good portal WR also.

Coach BANKS has built a great defense folks. Too many here have doubted him and now look stupid. Our defense has carried us in both games vs ranked opponents, and will play a HUGE role in whether we make the playoffs or not. We are blessed to have such a great coaching staff right now. GO VOLS
