Seth MacFarlane + the Flinstones? Snooze.

Family Guy is funny in small doses. Simply throwing in completely random jokes and pop culture references aren't my idea of clever writing.

I know he's probably motivated by money, but it would be great if he could drop all the awful shows he's been working on/still is working on and just stick to Family Guy. Then maybe it could be as good as it used to be.

Also, I know I'm just dreaming, but I wish Stewie could go back to being brilliant, evil, diabolical baby with a big vocabulary instead of the akward, gay, cross-dressing kid he is today.

I have to say I am not a fan of anything ole Seth does....But I will give this a chance, I mean it is the Flintstones one of my childhood staples.

I don't see this going well. The Flintstones is a show that I loved as a kid, and should remain a show for kids. I don't know that I'll want my kids watching a show like this once he starts throwing in anti-creationism and political jokes.
On another note, Betty Rubble is one of the hottest cartoons.

Seth MacFarlane Rebooting The Flintstones - TV News at IGN

FOX reported today that animation overlord Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad), after many years of negotiations between 20th Century Fox TV and Warner Bros Television, is rebooting The Flintstones as a TV and film property. A dream-come-true, reportedly, for MacFarlane, a mega-saurus Flintstones fan.

There was some concern from the Flintstone rights-holders regarding MacFarlane's raunchy tone and how the new Flintstones would be treated, but it seems like everything got smoothed out in the end. The new Flintstones will begin production in fall 2011 and will be set in stone on the FOX schedule in 2013

"The very first cartoon character I drew at age two was Fred Flintstone," said MacFarlane. "So it's appropriate that events have come full circle, allowing me to produce the newest incarnation of this great franchise. Plus, I think America is finally ready for an animated sitcom about a fat, stupid guy with a wife who's too good for him."

he'll throw a lot in i'm sure. it's basically a hollywood must to make jokes against Christians.

An old children's cartoon and an awful movie isn't exactly The Godfather. It can't be worse than either of those.

it's your opinion, but you're also in the minority. i'm not saying i'm a huge flinstones fan, but it's still considered a classic to a bunch of people.

What part am I in the minority about? Saying it was on old cartoon or saying that the first movie sucked?

you didn't imply in both of your posts that the original cartoon was terrible?

I think the original cartoon is fine but its just so old that I think that if you played the word association game and said Flintstones, most people under 30 would say "vitamins".

Anybody under the age of 30 even care about the flintstones? I mean, it was on when I was little, but there were way better cartoons to watch. I don't see this panning out.

I'm 29. The Flintstones was on all the time when I was a kid and I thought it was terribly boring. I also despise laugh tracks.
