I am not upset with the Butch Jones hiring, I simply do not care. That may be worse. When I was growing up in the Knoxville area, and a student at UT, Tennessee football was an event that I looked forward to every Saturday. I connect Vols football with some great memories with my family and friends. My first game at Neyland was in the late 70's against Rutgers. We lost. As bad as the media criticized Majors for losing to that team, there was still an confident expectation of winning every game that the Vols played in. As a fan, I do not feel that anymore. Some of us "veteran" fans have seen the glory days of the 80's, 90's and early 2000's. The expectation of winning was palpable, and could be felt in the stadium. We have lost our edge. We have fallen from knowing that the "T" on the helmet was worth at least a two touchdown advantage over our opponents. I love my alma mater, but I do not feel proud of my football team anymore. I do not have the desire to purchase UT gear. Where I live now, I am ashamed to fly my flag on gameday. This is truly sad. We needed a coach that would restore the confidence of the fanbase. We got a bandaid on a gaping wound. I will watch the vols on my TV, but I will not go to any games unless there is a change in the attitude of the program. We are at a crossroads. We can become the Ole Miss, Mississipi State, or Vanderbilt's of the football world, or we can rise up and recover our rightful place among the football elites. Comments would be welcome.

So if a team doesn't win over the course of one decade like they have their entire history, it's time to stop caring? That's pathetic. Check out Notre Dame. They've been in the toilet for the better part of the last decade and now they're playing in the NC game. Stop being so short sighted.

I do not get on here much, so I do not know what has been posted recently. I represent the people who have invested into this university for the past three decades. My friends and family feel the exact same as I do. Apathy has set in on even the most deeply rooted fans. I am not some young kid. I have spent thousands of dollars supporting the university's athletic programs since I was a student there in the late 80's and early 90's. You have your head buried in the sand if you think that opinions such as people like me do not matter. I will not waste my time on posts anymore. I just wanted to state my opinion. No wonder our program is in the state that it is in. I am done.

I'm right there with you man. Why care if NO ONE THAT CAN CONTROL THE PRODUCT THAT IS PUT OUT THERE CARES. Thats your point I get it. It is so sad how stupid alot of the Tennessee fan base has become to this point.

Most of us have been there at one point or another. Hope you hang in there with us once the initial disappointment fades. We'll welcome you back with open arms whenever that might be. And as always. GoVOLS.

Easy Clark! Apathy is the glove in which evil slips its hand...So I have been told. Can't say as I blame anyone for not spending the big money until some ships have sailed in a better direction. No matter what most on here have to say...I believe we a have made a step in the right direction with this hire. His track record proves exactly what he said in his conference. He is a motivated, hard working coach that will restore disipline and culture to this team. These things have all been lacking dating back to Fulmers last few seasons. I am excited but with caution! We have been beat on pretty bad and I truly believe we will be back. Maybe not next year, but soon.

You know I haven't posted a lot but have been reading a lot that has been posted on here just signed up recently but have been lurking around for a long time..... I was raise in maryville tn been a VOLS fan since I can remember .... Last time I checked this is designed to let people share their thoughts about the VOLS and what is goin on at the UNIVERSITY ...... So I find it crazy that some people "so called fans" get on here and just bash people that are just venting their well earned disappointment in the direction the program has been headed in ......in other words you don't have to be an A$$ HOLE !!!!!!!!! Im sure you can figure out which people I'm talking about..... GBO ......
