The Fulmer Poll

In your opinion Fulmer should be:

This poll really won't tell us a whole lot IMO. Every coach should be evaluated every couple of years, so the last option is simply stating the obvious about what any school should do with any coach. The poll should be either "Fired" or "stay" since that has been the talk in these threads.

Look at it this way:

Fired: Get the hell out

Stay: Its okay I have no qualms

2 More years: I'm starting to question your coaching skills

its really a toss up, I have some really serious questions on his motivation skills.

One game this year we've been balls to the wall: Cal

Freak brought up a good point yesterday about how after so many wins he might have just got lazy and such. Thats valid.

I agree with prior post that choice #3 is a cop out. BTW he needs to be fired, unless he does the honorable thing and resigns.

I think his contrac will expire at 2012. I doubt we can fire him before that, unless Fulmer resigns himself.

One year. If we can't win a title with the qb coming back. And what we got now. There IS a PROBLEM

On a sidebar, I dont think he needs another raise until he wins another SEC champ. He's already overpaid.

before everyone gets all up in arms, that was sarcasm, and directed at some comments made recently.

I agree with this 100%. $2M is enough for mediocrity. I am not one of the "Fire Fulmer" group; I like him and think he's a good coach. But it's been too long and we shouldn't reward 7 or 8 win seasons with raises.

you know, if I hadn't seen more fire out of the man this year than I have seen in probably 3 or 4 years, I may jump the "Fire Fulmer" bandwagon. I agree he should not get a raise at this point, and he won't, but the man is doing well with what we have right now. How many teams would play a close game against what is widely considered the most talented team in the SEC, with an inexperienced quarterback getting his first significant playing time to date, and a defense that has been gutted by key injuries, and wasn't terribly deep to begin with.

I hate to be one of those "wait til next year" guys, but when this teams gains experience, it will be scary. I am honestly going to be happy if we win the next two games and go to a decent bowl, because by god, not a lot of people expected a rebound from last season.

Last week LSU was the most talented team in the SEC.

This team is not going to keep up with the talent level of UF and UGA over the next few years unless it can make a big splash in the national media (for good reasons) which probably means winning the SEC or at least getting a back door invite to a BCS game as an at-large team.

And yes, everyone expected a rebound from last season because it really could not have gotten any worse.

With what we have coming back? Meachem, Smith, Swain, and Sears will be gone on offense. On defense we lose Mitchell and Karl. And, on special teams we lose Wilhoit.

We are still working with the OL that was recruited to zone block in Sander's scheme rather than man block in Cut's scheme. Arkansas returns everyone next year. It is going to be at least two years before we will be in the SEC Championship game...three before we win it and have a shot at the national title.

You forgot Turk McBride and Matt Mcgothlin at both defensive tackles. UT has no one groomed to replace them. Imagine a weaker DL then UT already has.

I am not too concerned about losing McBride and Olay McGothlin. McGothlin (sp?) might be the most terrible football player that has ever seen playing time in a University of Tennessee uniform. McBride is not that much better.

Basically, our DL cannot get any worse than it is this year.

I would like to know how our D went from being as stout as it was last year(rven though we went 5-6)to as bad as it is this year
