really though, did he look that good? I not trying to start an anti Ainge thread, but he got the ball to the receivers on little 10 yard outs, and yes it worked. But how much did he really do? He had one pass down field that was behind the WR...just wondering. I think he will be enough for us to make a run.

I think he is as good as he looked Saturday, he ansewered alot of questions from last year that everyone had about whether or not he was going to be better this year, or should we expect another bad year from him....I mean, he did hit 3 or 4 passes down field, I mean he did hit a 50 yard TD pass to Jayson Swain....And that first big throw he had from scrimage 3rd or 4th play of the game.....So I think he looked that good and the best is yet to come

Well if all things are relative, then, yes. He looked that good! Thanks LIO, this will be my third viewing (first at Neyland, second on my DVR, and now - just for the fun of it!)! I did have to slow-mo the opening kick-off 3 times to see the hit on Stevens. I thought it was #46, Andre Mathis, that put it on him, but I guess it was Robert Ayers based on everything I'm reading. All I know is it was fun watching us hit, gang tackle, and play with a crispness that I don't think we saw at all last year!

Let's go Vols, beat the Falcons! (one game at a time, folks!)

Let's just hope he's that good and can shred Florida Defense like he did Cal's....Even though, I would lay money that Florida's defense is quicker

hahaha man no kidding. But like in years past, the team that rushes for more yards wins most of the time, I am sure it will come down to that. But, we will get by AF first :hi:

Th O-Line deserves a majority of the credit. They were amazing.

RTE. Ainge had some good throws, yes he had some quick 5-6 yard passes that turned big. But he made some good decisions.

One I saw was he threw the ball away after he got a little pressure. No forcing a play. The INT he had was a tipped pass from the receiver. He could have thrown it a little better, but regsrdless, it was tipped and the DB was in the right place at the right time.

Well, I am a firm believer that success breeds success and I look for Erik to have another great game Saturday.

I don't know if we'll have much of a problem running the ball against them, with a defense that's as quick as Florida is we'll have to use counters to the weak side and draw plays and try to get them to bite on the play action when it comes time to throw...Ainge reads the run blitz, and he dumps it over the top for 6....I agree, we have to get by Air Force first and I believe we'll easily get past them, or should....That option will give us a hard time for a series or two....I just can't wait to see us get to Chris Leak on the defensive side of the ball and put him on his butt

Just watching the game now, he looks very good at times, really putting the ball where it needs to be. The INT was his fault though, but for the most part his throws have been very much on the mark. I think even the slightest error on some of those throws and he has 3-4 ints by the end of the half. Some dangerous throws to meachen on thompson that I dont think he will get away with against betters CBs.

Yeah, some of those passes...IF he made an error, were picked off....But he didn't.....That lone INT he threw wasn't his fault, I believe that was a tipped ball, the DB just made very good/lucky catch on it to get it....Ainge has a bullet for an arm and I think the plays he made against Cal he is capable of making against Florida or any other team in the country

Im not doggin him at all, Im just saying he made some very tight throws. Im just hoping he can maintain that kind of on-accuracy. The INT though was not on target, it was way behind a crossing reciever. It was unlucky for sure. I do think some better CBs breaking on those passes might have had a better shot at getting them.

I agree but at the same time, we don't know if he would have made those throws with a better CB covering. Thompson was an easy mark.

Yeah i have said that a few times. He still had a few bad throws. And that guy Thompson wasnt a SEC corner at all.

Also had trouble on occasions running the ball up the middle.

You can't blame that pick on Lucas Taylor. The pass was way behind him and there were two DB's right where Ainge put the ball. I think that one would have been picked with or without Taylor's tip.

It was definitely a bad throw. Ainge had a good game, but he scared me to death a few times making late throws on those quick outs.
