The gap between UT and it's two biggest rivals has NEVER been wider

This realization has become clear over this offseason. Florida has won 2 of the past 4 BCS titles. Bama is the defending national champ, and these 2 teams together now comprise the marquee rivalry in college football today. Both are on top of the college football world.

Meanwhile on the Hill, this is the lowest I can ever remember the program. As if the on-field results haven't been bad enough (and likely to continue/worsen), you have the Pilot robbery, Kiffin departure, Brown fiasco, bar brawl, Hostessgate, and NCAA threat.

Now, while ESPN has basically become All-Alabama all the time, Tennessee gets a quick airtime to basically say they don't want to play North Carolina in future seasons. If things weren't bad enough on their own, when put in relation to the current momentum of these 2 rivals, it only worsens the situation in Knoxville.

For those who jump on and blast me for posting this: get in line. But it is truth, and if something doesn't give in the next 2 years, UT will be left behind.

Bama is the defending national champs, we would be on ESPN all the time if we had won the NC. To the victor goes the spoils.

The Op forgets to take into account the cyclical nature of college football. Even the best teams go through periods of relative mediocrity, look at Florida and Alabama for cases in point. The talent gap will shrink over the coming years, it always does.

The OP is also a Bama fan

I don't know how many threads he has to start before people figure that out.

It's sad that the tone of duckhook's post is actually somewhat level headed compared to some of the crap that gets flung around here by some of VN's less reputable posters.

Anybody who's followed college football for any length of time knows Tennessee will never be "left behind". Good grief.

A post of common sense
Has anyone forgotten the fall of Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas Notre Dame, USC and many others. No team stays on top always, mighty teams fall and get back up. Geez guys do you think we're Vanderbilt or USC fake
