Interesting...but I really question the accuracy and validity of the 'research'.

Somebody needs a geography lesson too. I didn't know SMU was in North Dakota, Northwestern was in Wyoming, and those Michigan directional schools are allllll jacked up.

This was linked to by that NYT article. It far from scientific, and very flawed. This map is just a representation of people who submitted their team preferences via the internet.

Anyway, the actual data from this would suggest there are more Kentucky football fans in the country than Florida State fans. That seems bogus to me

The first sentence says that the map is highly inaccurate.

Arkansas State has more fans than the Razorbacks!

No state is as exclusively loyal to one team as Arkansas is imo. I've never seen anything like it. Outside of the college, I never EVER see people wearing anything but Razorbacks apparel. I guess it's because there is literally no other teams of note in the state
