Not sure if y'all had heard this but some friends were telling me about an article from volquest that detailed how, during the USCjr game, there was a series where we forced them to punt and we came out lined up in a 'punt block' formation, but noticed an offensive skill player lined up in USCjr's formation. The players audibled to a 'punt safe' formation and forced USCjr to get the delay of game penalty.

Coaching. It's a beautiful thing boys...and volleygirl.

Butch had the Old Ball Coach's number called last weekend! Great to finally see some competent coaching.

Me, personally, became tired Fulmer being out coached by Spurrier. By Kiffin being out coached by Urban Crier and Dooley being out coached by Joker Phillips & James Franklin.....

Nice to see that we aren't being out coached....

Winning BECAUSE of good coaching rather than winning DESPITE bad coaching is a wonderful thing.

CBJ also called a time out before a play that USCjr snapped that saved a TD. In first half emphasized by commentators. These are great example of players and coaches awareness. As the season progresses it seems that the players are seeing the field of play more clearly. Situational Field awareness and vision are often overlooked. It is a part of the pregame prep that is overlooked because of prep time. It is a sign of great coaching and this is just another example of the kind of coach and staff we have at Tennessee.

As if we actually needed another example of great coaching, but the actual coaching play of the game (which probably won the game for us) was at the near the end of the first half. SCjr lined up and we were out of position, CBJ immediately called a timeout which stopped a TD to the TE that was wide open and running into the end zone That type of game awareness has not happened in many years.

It seemed they learned a lesson from the UGA game and got just a bit more mentally tough for the S. Carolina game. Sometimes a game like UGA gets away from you. I'm trilled to see they didn't let the S. Carolina game get away.

Improvement week to week is a great thing!
