The Golf Thread

I’ve found that collecting Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf on DVR off Golf Channel is a pretty entertaining in the absence of live sports. Last night I was completely fascinated watching Henry Cotton vs Gene Sarazen from about 1970 at the Old Course. Currently, 30 something Phil is taking on 20 something Sergio.

Better than current programming. Nothing but Faherty and Valspar. Valspar must have paid them a ton.

My home course is taking precaution steps.

No cash accepted at all. You must pay by debit or credit card and you must swipe your own card and you must sign with your own pen. No exceptions.

No more than 8 people in the pro shop at a time and no dining or snacking inside.

Must putt out with the flagstick in at all times.

Rakes and ballwashers have all been removed.

Carts sanitized after each use.

Reasonable precautions imo. Doesn't close them down and it follows protocol that is recommended. They should probably invest in on-cart ball washers

It seems courses are staying open around Knox even with the lockdown going, at least tee times are available online. Had anyone heard differently?

We’ve done the same stuff and have gone to one person per cart.

One thing I’ve seen is some courses setting pins with the cup upside down so the bottom of the hole is only an inch deep.

I’ve played my best 2 rounds of golf in the past 10 years since the outbreak. Thinking about going to Africa next time Ebola comes back to see if I can shoot under par.
I had a feeling that your game was getting ready to break out. Congrats.
