Multiple outlets are reporting today that people close to Travis Releford's recruitment expect him to choose Alabama or Oklahoma.

Hat, do we have any realistic shot at Vander Blue?
Yes. I think it's most likely that he ends up reaffirming his committment to Wisconsin, but I wouldn't be shocked if he end up at Tennessee. That's certainly the best case scenario right now.

Jackson I assume is pretty much 99% Memphis as well. I saw Griffith's article that named a couple others besides Jackson and Vander Blue that we are looking at. Are you aware of those and if they are SEC caliber players?

Golden and Stringer are decent, not great, prospects. That said, either would be an upgrade over Goins.

People smart enough to realize a season with Melvin Goins as the primary point guard is the first step back to Houstonian Era basketball.

Some1 plz explain what the Houstonian Era basketball is??

Nobody seen the boy play except his freshman year at Ball State, where he started 26 of 30 games, making All Freshman Team. He transferred to a juco in California because Coach Taylor split after his first season... where he then snagged an MVP honors for the Foothill Conference. It doesn't take much to find out what Coach Pearl thinks of him---just google it.

Yall some haters man, haven't even seen the boy play! I bet he comes in and exceeds ALL OF YOUR EXPECTATIONS! And I'll put money on that~

And herein lies the problem. From those who have seen him play against lesser quality opponents their expectations of him aren't very high. So even if he exceeds those expectations we are stuck with what appears to be a mediocre to little better than average guy at point.

If you don't know enough about UT basketball to know what the Houstonian era is, you should probably keep crap like this to yourself.

That said, I hope you are right.

I did have one of the coaches I've talked to for an upcoming edition of the Trap tell me he thinks I'm wrong about Goins. He thinks Goins is good enough defensively to merit a scholarship. I bet him a beer at the Peach Jam next year he's wrong.
