Where do you get anybody saying its the GOP's fault? I didn't see that.

I saw someone saying the GOP would be pleased about it, but not that they caused it.

Oh. Well, that's just stupid. Bush had nothing to do with it. Neither did Pelosi, or Gingrich or Limbaugh or Olberman.

I have no tolerance for anyone, left or right, making it some kind of far-reaching political revenge thing.

i was coming back from a doc appt and had John Gibson on for entertainment values, and he seriously had liberals calling in and saying it was the GOP's fault. I swear on everything

What I found interesting is the media believing it was ours to lose. Perhaps we as a nation are too full of ourselves to believe we would lose out. Being the first cut is interesting though. Obama had to believe that his being there and making a case for his hometown would put them over the top, otherwise there was really no reason for him to go. Apparently the IOC simply wasn't that impressed by the Chicago bid.

I was watching CNN's coverage earlier, it seemed every correspondent was talking Barrack and Michelle's presentation up, that it was "theirs to lose". I even heard one correspondent reporting that she stole the show and the committee was trying their best to look impartial after her speech. Doesn't really seem in touch with the results as we watched them play out.

That's stupid.

As I say, I have no doubt that they will take some jaded delight in it and make some snide remarks (see e.g. even Hitler could get the Olyimpics), but I don't see how not getting the Olympics had anything to do with American politics.

it's not about politics but it shows the pure arrogance of Obama to think he could influence their decision. It's become an all too common theme this year- "I know better than you and let me tell you why"
