Perdue is a lame duck of the first sort, she is out.
The suspention of elections idea isn't a new one, LBJ
explored that option in 1968 although it didn't come out
for years later and wasn't at all well publized.
The 'rooster' comment reminds me of the Louisianna
sherrif, Bergeron, who called in his ace detective
Boudreau on a Friday afternoon and told him that
several women had complained to him that their
husbands were losing their hard won wages at certain
fooster fights and he requested that Boudreau spend
the weekend investigating if there were any illegal
rooster fights going on and if so then who was involved.
Boudreau dutifully reported back Monday morning was
quite excited to report to the sheriff that indeed there
was rooster fights going on and that there were three
main groups involved.
Sherrif; Who are the three groups?
Boudreau; There is Pollocks, Cajuns and da mob!
S; Why do you think Pollocks is involved?
B; Somebody brought a damned duck to fight, had to
be a Pollock.
S; Well I see, why is it you think Cajuns is involved?
B; It's hard to believe but somebody bet on that damned
duck, had to be a dumb Cajun.
S; Well then Boudreau, why do you think the mob is
involved?
B; Now sheriff this is the hardest part to believe but
I saw it with my own eyes, that dumb duck won the
fight, had to be the mob involved in dat.
