I know of no other voice as strongly associated with a major event as Tom Carnegie and Indy 500. My first memory of Indy was walking in on Pole Day and hearing "He's on it". Then later when Bobby Unser became the first one to top 180 mph, "It's a new...track...record". It won't be the same without him.
