My friends said they didn't like it.. I went and saw The Hulk instead tonight. Much cooler than the Hulk made a couple years ago

I was looking forward to The Happening. Then, I looked over some reviews that said it's just plain terrible. Oh well...Batman in a few weeks....

I was listening to the radio this morning, some movie-guru said he didn't like it, thought it wasn't very good.

The Happening looks pretty stupid in the commercials to me. Isn't Mark Wahlberg in it? He is one of my favorite actors too.

Now The Hulk I definitely want to see if it has Edward Norton in it

Roger Ebert liked it. He's one of the few reviewers that I actually respect and I may go see it when it comes to the local dollar movie theater.

I read the premise of the story a few weeks back ( and read some spoilers) and it's a little too enviromental for me.

It kept me entertained and wasnt terrible. I'd give it a 3 out of 5. I wouldnt say I liked it but it kept me entertained and thats all I really ask for in a movie.

It had it's good parts, but I sat through most of the movie wondering if it was almost over. I say C-.

Always thought M. Night Shamalan was overrated. I've heard the ideas for a lot of his movies are semi-stolen from foreign films. After the insanely crappy way Signs ended, I read ahead to see what this films "twist" was. It's just as stupid.

I thought Signs ended somewhat ok. The Village, on the other hand, may have one of the worst endings ever.

I wouldn't have had a problem with Signs if the ending had made even a little bit of sense. Why in the crap would aliens capable of interplanetary travel choose to land on a planet that is 75% covered with a substance that kills them? How long was their takeover of Earth going to last? Until it rained?

MNS can't seem to make great endings anymore. But i will give him credit for the Sixth Sense though, a very good twist.

Very good point. Never really thought about it that way.

After reading this the movie just doesn't make sense anymore. You're right, the movie just isn't that good.

they didn't come to invade, they came to harvest. it said in the movie that all the signs appeared well away from any large bodies of water.

A strong indicator of the quality of this movie is the advertising that claims this is his first "R" rated movie.

So what! If that's the film's biggest claim to fame then it surely reeks.

M Night Shalaman recently wrote a tell-all book where he blasted the film review community. The studio would let him do his trademark hitchcockesque cameo in this movie. The reviews for his film are goingto be bad. Don't let that keep you away. I'm going to see it today. I'll let you know how it is.

The main thing about his movies are they are not about the creature or monster, they are deep and are more social commentaries than they are "scary movies". People that don't understand that, usually don't "get" his movies.

Oh c'mon. What social commentary is to be found in The Lady in the Water? That whole movie is a big self aggrandizing piece of garbage. Shockingly, a critic in the movie that no one likes is savagely killed. If his movies were so deep, his scripts wouldn't get rejected by studios. M. actually had a hard time getting The Happening into the theaters.

Could they not analyze our atmosphere and figure out that moisture is in the air? Those aliens would still be dead when it rained. What happens in the summer when it gets humid? I guess their lungs burn up. Or crap, if water is such a huge danger, why not wear a freaking wet suit? They can build spacecraft, but not ponchos?
