As I understand it, Jalen Hurd was wearing the new anti-concussion helmet yesterday. Has The Butch said anything about this headgear becoming standard game day wear for the entire team? I know the helmets are still experimental so wonder if it will be just one player or the team that uses them.

I recently watched the PBS special on football concussion. It was incredible and very scary. I commend CBJ if he is taking action to protect his players. If your interested below is an article from popular science about a new helmet design which shows some promise:

The Helmet That Can Save Football | Popular Science

It sounds like the Ridell is bunk

I noticed it too, kinda reminded me of people that have steel plates embeded in their foreheads (not trying to be funny either).

The helmet flexing is going to cause a broken helmet quicker. More moving parts = more things to break internally. I don't know if they use prestreched fibers in hard plastics yet, but a broken helmet is useless.

If it keeps him safe to score a lot of TD's and racks up yardage with it, I'm all for it.

Hopefully the helmet does break absorbing a large amount of the energy and whats inside doesn't. We can afford new helmets better than new brains.
