Just watched this tonight, didn't see a thread for it in the search, thought I would get some opinions from my fellow VN brethren.

I personally thought it was fantastic.

Jeremy Renner is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors, he was great, as was the rest of the cast.

Parts of the movie I felt like I was watching a documentary, not because of the way it was shot of course, just that it seemed so realistic, I assume that it was a very accurate dipiction.

I thought it was good, not great. Jeremy Renner bandwagon fans, check out his portrayal of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in 2002's Dahmer.
I thought it was an excellent movie and I didn't know Renner had a "bandwagon".

Marine in Iraq. Crossed over for the start in '03. Unrealistic in the way homeboy acted. Not unrealistic in the way the bombs were set up, detonated, watched over by hodgies waiting for a shot or to push the magical button.... if you want to see a no **** replica of " spring break 2003" watch Generation Kill. Imo good and bad the most accurate portrayl by far of combat operations

I will caution though... the jokes and dialect will seem horrific in some parts and give the false sense of horrible people. Its all just the way people deal with the stresses of the situation.
A lot of criticism surfaced after the release of this serious because of that...what some don't understand is the fact that, while trained, these guys are sent over to fight and are at the mercy of what they are ordered to do and the laws of war. Insurgents are people who have no rules except what they deem morally wrong. Two groups, same war different rules.

He had to be a badass in some way...how boring would the movie have been had they used the robot everytime, all the time.

He had a little Rambo in him that is for sure.
