Assuming Charlie Weis is fired by ND, who will it be?

Brian Kelly
Jon Gruden
Urban Meyer
etc.

I'm thinking Brian Kelly might be #1. In that case, it could get interesting if Kelly and Meyer have to take questions all through December about ND.

Any other potential realistic candidates?

They will offer Meyer a crapton of money. He will dither, get his raise out of Florida to five or six million a year, and eventually say no. They'll offer Gruden a crapton of money. He will probably say no because he's an NFL guy.

They'll hire Brian Kelly.

I really think they'll put all of their eggs in the Meyer basket...and if that fails, they'll go with Kelly from Cincy. If they're looking for immediate results, I'm not sure either coach is the right answer, given the style of offense they run, and the current style of athelete ND has on its roster. Someone who runs a more traditional offense may be better suited...unless they want to go through the same woes as Michigan.

I doubt they will go the NFL route again as the decided schematic advantage has been a failure.

Kinda like Billy D. It's a familiar UF tactic- flirt just enough to make the AD offer more money, then declare, "It's GREAT to be a Florida Gator!" Heck, if they offered me 6 million a year, I'd gladly yell the same.

Picturing Saban on the ND sideline is a bit odd...

Almost as funny as watching them lose would be watching them have a single winning season, have Saban jump to the NFL to coach the Rams then ND goes .500 for the next decade.
