a recognized area for improvement is to have a coach on the floor point guard.

1.Staley's comment on the lack of a point guard leader as a prime reason their loss to NCState

2. an ESPN article on Coach Hurley, former great point guard at Duke and his association with his point guards (well worth reading)

3. Suarez essentially playing the point in parts of the ETn game and being vocal

The three players designated as point guards have of yet not demonstrated the needed leadership.

From what I've been able to tell is the PG position is fine and will continue to develop and show leadership throughout the rest of the season. Jordan Walker has done well as has Destiny Salary. Jordan Horston can play there as can Marta Suarez. It is just a matter of getting more reps and minutes. They have the talent to get the ball to our scorers and to score as well. I'm more concerned about being really effective on defense. ETSU guards got a step on them more than once.

I think you do better by deciding on two players to play there and giving them most of the reps in practice and most of the playing time in games. I think most players only get better when they have a defined role on a team and are continually coached how to play at that position. I think Horston has figured it out this year and after an opening bad game will be consistent in most of the remaining games. Walker hasn't played the position since high school but she has been solid does not turn the ball over. Salary is the third option would like to see more of her as the backup two guard she has a nice shooting stroke from the perimeter.
