What a freaking week . I honestly got away from watching any of the late night hosts but this week had Kimmel doing a whole show in a Leno costume, then going on Leno's show and pwning him . Letterman has his take on the whole situation. Now it looks like Conan will walk with alot of money in his pocket.

One thing i took from this week is Craig Ferguson is possibly the best out of all of them. His humor and approach to the late night formula is a tad unorthodox, but it really works for me. youtube related links forthcoming.

YouTube - Jimmy Kimmel on Jay Leno's 10 at 10

YouTube - David Letterman - Will Jay Leno Do The Right Thing?

YouTube - Conan O'Brien sticks it up to NBC and Jay Leno

Conan has been pretty funny this past week. It's the first time I've watched any of the 11:30 guys in years.

Craig Ferguson is the funniest guy to come along in quite a while, he should definitely have an earlier time slot.

conan is by far the best. but jimmy fallons is actually getting funnier, plus he has The Roots which is an automatic win

Fallon is flat out terrible. I wish he and Lopez would fight to the death and the winner just be fired.

NBC has just screwed this one up totally. Do they expect Jimmy Fallon to take over when Jay does finally decide to retire for good?

Conan attracts a younger audience and I for one find him pretty funny and was getting used to him having the Tonight Show. I hope NBC fails again in the ratings. Back to Letterman for me.

Conans last show tonight

Gave a good exit speech and then helped on the guitar to play freebird to end his run

Pretty classy exit for Conan, he would have been totally justified in ripping the hell out of NBC tonight, but chose to take the high road instead. Hopefully he'll get another show in the future because I personally enjoy his style.

I think Fox is ready to take that next leap after the Chevy Chase debacle.

Honestly that's Conan's only option. who else? The other networks are locked in on their guys, CS isn't going to part with Stewart or Colbert that would be a stupid move.Anything beyond that would be amateur level for Conan.

I think I had read somewhere that HBO had expressed some interest in him. That could be interesting.

To me HBO would be a bad move, nightly programming on that network hasn't shown long term success and a late night show dosent seem to fit in their format , plus it would be a much smaller number of households he was reaching.

Maybe not as a every night type of program, but HBO could certainly come up with some sort of forum for his considerable talents. Look at what they did with Larry David, CYE orginally started simply as a one hour special for LD, and it branched off into a highly successful show that's been on for about 10 years.

Im not sure thats something he wants to do though, he seems to love the traditional late night format and i doubt HBO could do it justice. Who knows, honestly i dont want to have to add it to my cable package again.
