Couldn't find a thread to revive...

I've been watching this show since it came out a few years ago. I LIKE it, but don't LOVE it.

I still watch it because I've always thought the premise was interesting.

I've got a qualm which I'm curious if anyone has any alternative feelings about, conflicting ideas, or agreement.

So. First season was this interesting premise of what happens to the leftover individuals when a major life event, such as possibly a judgement day, were to happen? What occurs in peoples psyche, how do we function knowing we weren't good enough, what does the political structure do? Originally I was good with the show not being about uncovering the answers as to what happened to all those people, and thought it was an interesting choice to not lead us onto a Lost style goose chase to find that answer. I get that not pouring the focus onto "What happened?" was tough for audiences of the show. The idea of a Leftover society is rather bleak, but socially/politically/culturally facinating to me.

So. Season 2. Ratings were rather bleak so they wove in a heavier supernatural, religious, and psychological angle into the story trying to gain back viewership imo. It definitely didn't feel like Season 1 AT ALL.

Season 3 (Current) is now 'Lost'. They realized the show wasn't going to float on the original ideas that they wanted to focus the show on. They've went partially-full on 'smoke monster'.

Whats funny is that I can watch all the different variations of this show and for the most part enjoy it. Season 2 was eh. I think I'm most annoyed with the fact that as a whole the show has went through so many drastic changes throughout its short three seasons! I still watch but it just feels like three different TV shows and has no continuity to the overall original 'theme' and tone of the pilot season.

Again. Just curious how it's viewed and regarded by others...
