1) Georgia really believes they should have been playing in the nat'l championship.
2) There is no reasonable argument to back up that belief.
3) Nonetheless, our win over Georgia looks even better in hindsight.

That makes it easy to mock them. Sarcastically mention Herschel Walker at least once a week. It'll get under their skin.

UGA could probably beat LSU right now. I have not thought about how the Dawgs would match up with Ohio State. Given the UF loss, my guess is the Dawgs will be ranked in the top 3 preseason for 2008.

Why would you do that? Herschel was awesome. I do not understand where you are coming from with this comment.

Before ut/uga games, I like to say stuff to uga fans like "hey, is herschel coming today?" Or basically just anything to imply that the fan base is still stuck in 1981. I've had excellent success using this as a heckling technique.

A lot of the UTK fanbase is stuck in 1998. Not sure what the difference is at this point. History is history. I guess I'm in that unobtrusive class of fans that just goes to watch the games and fellowship with friends rather than trying to start a riot. :)

Winning their half of the conference is sort of a pre-requisite to your proposed hypotheticals. They failed the pre-requisite.

I'm off to work.

At least you live in Brunswick. Living here in Atthens, it will be Dawgs 24/7 for the next month. Hopefully I won't have to listen to that darn hobnail boot call by Munson more than 10 times a day for then.

Hawaii looked tiny compared to Uga. Only a blind homer would have thought that Hawaii stood a chance. Its like being Southern Miss and being proud of it.

The uga fans at my office today are furious that UGA is not playing for the national title next week, claiming they are "easily the best team in the country."

They just better be really happy they didn't run into USC in the Rose Bowl or it would have been them that got destroyed.

Yes, right now UGA and USC are probably playing better football than any other two teams in the country but that does not take into account the totality of the season. UGA was supposed to be reloading in 2006 and win the East in 2007. Their reloading project turned into more of a minor rebuilding project, particularly on their OL, and it cost them. The Dawgs will have to avoid starting flat-footed if they want to play for a national title in the next year or two. They certainly have the talent to make a BCSCG run seeing as how they've had Top10 recruiting classes in 2004, 05, 06 and 07, and it looks like they will have their best one in a while this year. They had the excuses of youth and inexperiecne this year. Next year they will be expected to do better.

Geogia is the perfect example of why I do not pull for teams other than UT in the SEC to do well in bowl games. There are reason why GA did not play in the championship game this year and they know exactly why but choose to whine and cry and try to distract you about those reasons.

Not only does UGA think they should be in the BCSCG, they think they are #1 already! That game is irrelevant.

UGA only has to look back at the South Carolina game to figure out why they're not in the hunt for the NC. Their only quality loss (a misnomer for sure) was to UT, LSU had the good sense to lose to Kentucky and Arky plus they won the SECCG.

And thats the same sh$t we heard about past games like: Florida vs OSU,and Tennessee vs Florida St.,and OSU vs Miami, and Oklahoma vs LSU,and Alabama vs Miami.

There's a reason why we need a playoff, and not let fans ASSUME who's better than who.

Georgia got drilled by a mediocre UT team. They lost to a terrible SC team. They've done nothing impressive except defeat Florida while Tim Tebow was injured.

Hawaii was one of the worst bowl match ups I've seen an SEC team get in a BCS game in a long time. That team looked completely lost, outsized, and terribly terribly slow. Georgia is benefitting from the complete and utter BS hype that surrounded the "vaunted" Hawaii offense.

Didn't Oklahoma get in after a blow out in the Big 12 championship game against K St.I also think they lost another game that year, but I'm not sure about that?
