will start next year at the Galen Center. I'm pretty sure that this was discussed here during the summer, but outlets on both ends are reporting it again.

Hat, despite your reservations and criticisms of Pearl, I'm guessing you have very few complaints about the scheduling he's done since he arrived.

There's no doubt that the scheduling has been top shelf.

So, we will have road games at Memphis and USC next year to go with a home game against Kansas. Are any other noteworthy games being talked about or already signed?
And, does anybody know which early-season event UT will be involved in? Since Bruce's second year, we've played in the NIT, Legends Classic, and Old Spice Classic, so I figure we'll be playing somewhere next Thanksgiving.

Not sure about which early season tournament they'll be in next year. A lot of those events have already announced their fields for next year and I don't remember hearing UT mentioned.

I think it's safe to assume Bruce will add at least one more marquee home game to balance the schedule. Also, I know it has been the plan to upgrade the quality of opponent we play in Nashville.

The opponent has usually been pretty good in Nashville. Oklahoma State, Western Kentucky, and Marquette should be enough to fill some seats.

I liked what they did in 2007-08 - a doubleheader involving local teams. Perhaps they could bring in out-of-state, but regional teams to play TN schools.

I suppose we'll be in one of the weaker ones next year. I'm sure we'll be somewhere though. There are enough weak events for pretty much every team now. The early-season tournaments are getting to be like the bowls.

The tournament in Kansas City has had good fields. So has the Coaches v. Cancer. I haven't seen those fields yet.

Memphis is playing Louisville there next year. I'm pretty sure Cal isn't interested in sharing that stage with UT. I could care less about a doubleheader that involves Vanderbilt or MTSU.

I was about to suggest UofL-Memphis, but I couldn't think of an opponent worthy of UT sharing the stage without going over the top with it.

I'd like to see UT play UC, considering

1) the amount of people that I know up there

and

2) the amount of people from the Cincinnati area that come down here for school.

Most people don't realize how many Cincinnatians attend UT. I've always said that anyone who put a Goldstar or Skyline on The Strip would make a nice sum of cash.

There are an absurd amount of people from Cincinnati that come down to UT. Never been sure why.

don't we play someone in the Big East vs SEC match-up? I would guess this will probably be played in Nashville like the Marquette game was this year.

A huge number of people from East Tennessee moved to the Cincinnati area in the '60s to work at the auto plants in Batavia, Sharonville, Sydney, etc. Many of them sent their kids to college back home at UT and that built a strong alumni network in that area that funnels kids to UT til this day.
