GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Charlie Weis' welcome-to-the-SEC moment came during a recent romantic dinner with his wife. This being Florida -- even if he weren't a former NFL and Notre Dame coach of some renown -- once you're a Gator, that comes with certain obligations. Or else.

"Two really sleazy girls come over and say, 'Coach, will you take a picture with us?' Florida's new offensive coordinator said. "I would have said no anyway, that's beside the point. I politely say, 'Hey, I'm sorry, I'm having a dinner with my wife.' I read about it the next day, how much of an a--hole I was, how I wouldn't take a picture with somebody."

I'm guessing Charlie isn't used to being on a college campus where the girls aren't as big as he is.

And yes Charlie, you are an a-hole.....improve our offense and we'll let that little personality squirk slide.

Eh. Celebrity worship is out of control. Let the man have dinner with his wife.


Not cool that he publicly called them "sleazy," but I guess they did call him an a-hole.

He told them he would after he finished eating and they said they had to be at work at 8 am and they couldn't wait.

I agree they should let him have dinner with his wife, but him calling them sleazy in addition to saying he wouldn't have taken a picture with them anyway (ostensibly because of aforementioned sleaziness) negates that defense, in my view.

I forgot he was their new OC. Too much going on in the world of sporting.

He has forgotten the days when nobody gave a **** about getting his autograph.

I have not been a Jabba Wies fan since the day he accused Matt Trannon (Mich St) of slapping him during a sideline scuffle. Video has since proved that no one was ever close to Jabba during the scuffle, and infact Trannon was roughed up by an ND grad assistant.

The flag that was brought on by Jabba's accusation was a turning point in the game. EFF Jabba. I hate having that guy on the staff at UF. Hate. With Passion.

I started to laugh when I read that his 15 year old daughter kept on forgetting to get off at her bus stop... then I realized that I skipped the part where it explained that she had special needs. This guy feels like a douche.
