I will say a couple of things for the Newtster.

1. Newt was the one most resopnsible for the four year balanced budget during the Clinton administration, a first in about an hundred years. Of course the dhimirats take credit for that but it was Gingrich who was responsible.

2. Newt took on the whole media complex in the South Carolina debtate and that got a lot of people behind him because the American people are sick to death of the pablum delivered on a daily basis by the lame steam media.

Why is it when Republicans talk about the budget they blame Barack Obama but refuse to give credit to Bill Clinton? In the 90's it was the Congress that did it. But now the President is responsible.

The reality is that both parties and both branches are equally responsible for this god awful mess America is in.

I reject the notion that Presidents directly control the economy. No end in sight to unbalanced budgets, however, do make it sick. The day a plan is in place to have our budget balanced is the day our economy starts to get better.

(Yes, I know what Keynes said.)

The President does not directly control the economy, however, the Presidents policies do effect the economy.
