The (many) indictments of Donald Trump

Are the concepts too hard for you to understand?

Should I dumb it down?
I'm just curious why you don't feel Democrats did the same when they made up Russia collusion? They did everything they could to impede Trump's Presidency.

And while I have zero doubt Trump is a corrupt person, I also have zero doubt that Biden is a corrupt person. While the left is shining a spotlight on Trump's misdeeds, they're trying to sweep Biden's under the rug and claim moral superiority. Neither side has any semblance of morality.

I'm sure EL is about to sweep in with some comment. That chick is obsessed with me.

Which item on my list do you believe applies to the russian collusion claims?

no disagreements here.

Loss of any semblance of moral superiority.
Loss of respect for the rule of law.
destroyed faith in the electoral process.
Rejection of authoritarian populism.
Acceptance of the rejection of moral rectitude.

Lol

You realize most of those were missing prior to Trump?

If you can’t lie to yourself loother then who can you lie too.
There’s no excuse for voting for one and complaining about the other.
You're mostly correct. That being said, I absolutely believe that an unprecedented amount of people voted against Clinton in 2016 and Trump in 2020. That's the result of having poor choices

You’re not wrong
I have not voted major party since Clinton. I refused to vote for GW or Gore as they were unworthy of my vote. 3rd party ever since. Sadly GW and Gore are 100 times better than Trump or Biden

I've certainly become an independent, but I simply didn't vote in either the 2016 or 2020 Presidential election

That's simply beyond stupid.

There has never and will never be a perfect candidate....they all have flaws......just not equally.

Any candidate you have ever voted for was a flawed individual.
I try to vote for the least flawed in the primaries.

Whatever you have to tell yourself to live in your hypocrisy

People like us have to help change things. When 3rd party starts getting enough votes to make a difference then maybe the powers that be will start to listen
Yes! BUT the lot has been poisoned by tribal, party politics. We must start with Tennessee. Almost all of the legislative actions taken in the last couple of years have been culturally driven. Make America Great Again???? Stop the cultural legislating! Focus on legislation that benefits the centered 50%. Cut taxes for those remaining in the middle class. Regardless of consumer tax cuts, the financially elite are going to stimulate the economy. Those in the middle class are going to spend more frequently on assets and vacations with that extra $$$

Agree with a lot of this.
I’m way more concerned with the local vote then the state vote than the presidential vote.

I have been saying this for months. The extremes of the Democratic & Republican Parties (20% each Party) are controlling the 60% of the middle part of the party. This country will not be put back into its set governance until you cut the Extremes for both side of each party and start governing from the middle. An OAC & MGT have no business serving. Both are a waste of space, Pelosi and McCarthy need to go as well. Shumer and McConnell as well as Cruz & Feinstein. Cut the extremes out. Term & Age limits as well. That would equal 40 (20 each side of the Senate) and 80 (40 each side in the House)

If you had employees this incompetent and always stirring crap on each other, or not getting anything productive done. You would fire them.

I agree with you, it’s absurd. But actual legal scholars (idiots but still) were making the same claim. And the fact you believe trump believes that, isn’t good for the narrative. For the narrative to work trump had to know he lost and then committed fraud

Trump absolutely knew he lost the election. He just believed the election was unfair. If he didn't know he lost it why all the effort to overturn it?

You’re confusing two things, intentionally I assume. He did believe the election was unfair, sure. He also believed that he rightfully won more votes than Biden. Therefore he believed he rightfully won the election and wanted the result overturned

They changed it in 22 made it ceremonial.... Nixon rejected elector in 1960. Completely legally...
Vice president doesn’t have power to ‘change the outcome’ of elections

That is dead wrong, and doesn't make any sense.

Can you point to anything in either the United States Constitution or Federal Election Commission law, which grants the Vice President the unilateral discretionary authority to decline to count electoral college votes?

No, you can't ... because it's not there. Hawaii, in the 1960 Presidential Election was close enough to mandate a recount ... Michigan in 2020 was not. Your examples are not analogous with each other. Michigan in 2020 was never going to be under recount. Biden won the state by 154,000 votes!

You mean electoral votes? The only way that Trump could have won the election, is if he flipped some combination of 3 states. Simply flipping the two closest - Georgia and Arizona - wouldn't be enough. There is no way that he could possibly believe that he legitimately won the election.

He might have believed he rightfully won but he knew he legally lost.
