Now the Kentucky Derby is the only sporting event with even a semblence of Class. I always looked forward to coming home early on Masters thursday and friday, to see good Golf coverage.

Now, i will get the pleasure of Chris(Not funny since 1993) Berman, talking about golf, and much like Skip Bayless talking about anything, make no sense. Does it matter? NO!! Because ESPN is cool and in yout face.

That said, the Augusta board of directors sold out, any seblence of class they hoped to maintain, now that they have the "I wish i was intelligent enough to host a political talk show" bunch calling the first 2 rounds

why would Berman being doing the Masters? Get Tirico and Pelt and the presentation would be lightyears above what USA puts on.

just looked it up and Tirico will be the host. And there's no way Pelt isn't there as well. Besides with Hootie's strict restrictions on what announcers can and can not say, it doesn't make that much of a difference.

forget the coverage. haul your cookies to Augusta for the sporting event of a lifetime. The Masters is amazing in its lack of commercial garbage.

Hootie's out as chairman

Billy Payne's the Chairman since 2006

Hootie still has his say and it's still his same rules and regs on what announcers can and can't say. Just ask McCord.
those rules long pre-dated Hootie. The iron grip was Clifford Roberts. Jack wasn't overly liberal either.

I miss the days when the chairman conducted the interview with the winner. I'll never forget Seve Ballesteros winning the Masters and Hord Hardin starting the interview with "How tall are you?":ermm:

the rules may have predated Hootie. Regardless, he still has his say. And either way, ESPN covering the Masters is still going to be better than the USA telecasts.

They could put the Masters on QVC and the venue would be able to overcome the announcers.

I do sort of like to hear Verne get excited on the back 9 on Sunday. That man get more out of 3 word sentences than anybody I've ever heard.

For me GA, the same could be said about the British Open. I enjoy it far more than I enjoy the Masters for some reason.

I probably enjoy the Masters more just because of the familiarity I have with the course (as a spectator . . . I'd probably pass out if I had the chance to actually play it.)

#1 was hard enough standing up. I can't imagine it from my back.

Berman calling the Masters makes about as much sense as Britney Spears, N*SYNC, and Janet Jackson doing a Super Bowl halftime show.
