The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

I watched most of the game, laughed a lot, but do not recall if Kimbrow or Azubike played. Anybody know their status? Not that it matters. Just wondering.

Kimbrow was playing when I tuned in. He fumbled on that drive that I watched and Temple recovered. It was fantastic and perfect timing to tune in for sure.

I have no sympathy and feel no remorse for Vanderbilt or its fans. Even for friends that I grew up with in the Nashville area. The last two years they have been talking about how Vanderbilt has officially passed Tennessee as the elite program in the state. Tennessee will never be good again and Vanderbilt will now compete for the SEC year in and year out. Haha. I've talked to a couple of them today, and they sound like someone just ran over their dog.

Same. I thoroughly enjoyed watching that beatdown and hope they go 0-12 this year, retain Mason, and reward him for a stellar 2-10 record in 2015.

Even if it does, I won't take any less joy in Vanderbilt losing like the losers they are.

Since when does your favorite team have to win to justify taking pleasure in teams you hate losing?

Because some "fans" would rather see us lose just so they can say "I told you so!"

Because some "fans" would rather see us lose just so they can say "I told you so!"

Some fans aren't looking to say 'I told you so!" as much as they're just living in reality. If we win, you can tell me "I told you so!" to your heart's content. I'll gladly take it for a "W" anyday.

If we lose, you'll never hear me say "I told you so!", I'll just be pissed and cursing, most likely at the coaches.

Even if Tennessee loses, I'd still want Vanderbilt to lose. Whether Tennessee wins or loses that will never change. In fact, Tennessee losing gives even more reason to take pleasure in teams like Vanderbilt, Florida, Kentucky, Alabama etc. losing. If I can't enjoy Tennessee winning, at least I can enjoy teams I hate losing. Otherwise for me, there would be no point in watching any games outside of Tennessee when the Vols are losing. What Tennessee does has no bearing on the joy I get from watching someone like Vanderbilt losing 37-7 to a team that was 2-10 last season. I mean, Lane Kiffin ditched us and most of us were pissed, but that didn't stop me from taking joy in Franklin bolting on Vanderbilt. I enjoy our rival teams losing, and that's all there is to that story. :)

I understand that, but I'm thoroughly convinced some of our so called fans are content to wallow in misery and bring others along with them. I'm all about being realistic as well, but there is also a glass half full kind of mentality instead of the complete pessimistic view some are taking. Even in this thread we've seen "OMG, Utah State can do this to us as well!!!!!"

And how likely is that? We aren't talking about A&M which has already proven itself as a team worthy of respect that pounded an overrated USCe or Vanderbilt which certainly was overrated after having a couple of good years and got trounced because, well, they're Vandy.

This is Tennessee. We've had a few down years, sure, but the doom and gloom I keep seeing day in and day out needs to stop. People aren't being realistic, they are becoming as bad as Vandy fans were five years ago when they automatically assumed their team would suck. We should be better than that. We are better than that.

We are mother ****ing Tennessee and we are not losing to Utah State.

Well said. Some Tennessee fans have become insufferable.

Although he probably won't play again this season, McRary may have the worst stat line of any SEC QB ever.

0/3, 2 INTs

At least Peterman completed a few passes and generated 5 positive yards.

Was he injured or just pathetic ? If its the latter he will play at sometime I would think. As far as SEC QBs that played regularly I will always think of Joe Cox as the worst ever

I don't recall getting blown out, at home, by a non-P5 team while wearing the Smokey Greys.

No, but we did lose twice in them in heartbreaking fashion, and then we proceeded to lose in Smokey Grey basketball uniforms for good measure.

Our friend Immyaxl is taking the PSU win over UCF pretty hard:

Poach beat a BCS winning team while on probation in Ireland of all places. We got blown out by Temple in Nashville. I'm headed back to the liquor store!banghead
