From #2 preseason to 13-9, 5-5 in the Big Ten, and losing 43-25 on the road at the half to Wisconsin. Beautiful.

If Izzo had taken the Cavs job, everyone would be saying he is a moron because the Cavs suck and Michigan St. is only losing because he left. Ooops.

Sad but true. I think not having Korey Lucious is having a bigger impact on Michigan State than people think.

Just my two cents.

Vol fan: "Ha ha, Michigan State sucks."

Sparty fan: "Hey, how'd you like watching the Final Four last year? And how's your coach doing this year?"

Vol fan: "....."

Luscious being gone is hurting them big time. They turn the ball over waaaayyyy too much. They don't play very good defense. People are rioting in Detroit.

OK? Look, as a Michigan fan second, I have to deal with this **** daily from their fans. It's enjoyable to see them fail, even if I don't mind Izzo.

Good one?

Seems like you always find a way to put the Vols down and side with other teams.

BTW... Michigan State returned their entire team and Tony Jones has still done a better job than Izzo this year.

But at least Michigan State won by a point and went a game farther last season. If that's what MSU is hanging their hat on these days, the Vols have come along way and MSU has truly fallen.

I've always disliked MSU and I think it's funny that despite Tennessee's turmoil, MSU is having an even worse season. What's their excuse? More importantly... what's it to you? No point in raining on other peoples parade. Unless of course it makes you feel good. If that's the case, may I ask why?

It's even funnier for a Michigan fan to be laughing at Michigan State, consider how badly little brother has been whipping their obnoxious big blue brother's arse in all sports for several years now.

I'm a homer, but not a blind one. I find mindless rah-rah-rah stuff to be irritating, because there are too many interesting things to talk about in sports. And you can't talk about them without objectivity. I love UT; you love UT; almost everybody on this site loves UT. But there's no point logging in just to see who can cheer the hardest. I'm not interested in the opinions of people who can't even at least try to be objective about stuff.

As to this thread in particular -- what looked like a sour-grapes post about Michigan State is especially grating because in two years, Izzo will have his team back in the top 5 where they usually are, while in Knoxville, Pearl will probably be gone, we'll probably be on probation, and that whole run to the Elite Eight will be a distant memory. Calling what's happening to MSU "self-destruction" is a joke compared to the hammer Pearl has hung over our basketball program.

True, but it's always nice to see the mighty fall every once in a while.

Not really sure why we're laughing at MSU. Tennessee's record isn't great, UT just lost to Alabama yesterday, and just being allowed to make the tournament next year seems to be the best thing we can hope for at the moment.

Gonna take a major turnaround for MSU to even make the tourney this year. I just don't think they have it in 'em. Seems to be a rudderless, leaderless team. It happens. Izzo will have them back, just not this year.

Tennessee has so much room to talk. Sour grapes from them putting us out of the tournament? Seems to be.

Or you could've read the part about where I hate MSU's fans.

For every one person like you that hates Sparty fans, there are literally 500 others who hate the obnoxious, pretentious, and overwhelmingly frontrunning fans of Meatchicken.

So did you go to UTK as an undergraduate and then Michigan for your graduate work, or was it the other way around?
