The Mississippi schools

Who would have thought both schools were gonna have new hires in the same year just because of some kid pretending to urinate like a dog in the endzone?

Matt Luke was in over his head and too nice to be a HC coach in the SEC. Moorhead just sucks and appears to be destined as a career OC.

The funny thing about Luke is that while I did get the impression he was in over his head, given the circumstances I thought he actually did a pretty good job. He still managed to win over 40% of his games as a low man on the totem pole in a great division and while dealing with postseason ban/scholarship restrictions. He very easily could have put up Chad Morris-like numbers.

It is the truth.

It’s definitely why for Ole Miss
I highly doubt that is why Luke was fired. Even if they win the Mississippi State game, Ole Miss would have finished 5-7 in Luke's third season. Post Hugh Freeze, they think more highly of themselves.

The recruiting battles between Kiffin and Leach should be interesting in Mississippi and Memphis and CJP and his staff should be able to get most Memphis prospects that they want.

Following Freeze at Ole Miss was an impossible task. The expectation level of the Ole Miss fan base had been raised and they weren't going to lower them to a more realistic level to account for the sanctions or the attrition that Freeze's abrupt exit had brought. Plus, the new guy had to recruit within the rules now that they are under intense NCAA scrutiny. Luke never had a fair chance.
