The NCAA is really doing this?

FSU’s always been a draw since Bobby Bowden took them public. Brand, babes and location…makes sense. But their turndown was relatively brief after some coaching hire misses and NIL has been a major reason…seemingly more than Norvell’s superior gameplanning. Open-minded with a presumption towards innocence, but was their landing an inordinate number of portals aided by tampering? Fair to ask. Pretty quick judgement from the NCAA! What happened to two years of investigations and allowance for rival negative recruiting?

Payback to FSU for raising cain about the playoff. When has the NCAA ever made such a quick decision?

I seriously wonder if that played a factor.

NCAA brought their death on themselves with how they are inconsistent about punishing programs and frankly NCAA sanctions have never effectively obtained the goal behind their existence: a fair and level playing field that creates parody

Do we really feel like College Football has a fair playing field and parody? Especially pre-NIL.

To me, it holds zero water.

This is a CROCK! So it's now legal to Pay players; but you can't introduce prospective payees to their prospective payer??? The NCAA needs to be KICKED OUT Of College Football!! This is obviously a hit job on Fsu. Damn them astards.

This is only happening because of what FSU is doing. I think are ruffling a lot of feathers. Big12 will gladly take them. SEC and Bigten will not touch them with a ten foot poll. Figure of speech.

You have to wonder how the NCAA found out about a coach driving a prospect to an NIL.

Did the school self report this? The coach? The NIL? The player?

If the school and NIL knew this was a violation, why would they, the coach, or the NIL report it?

Maybe the player mentioned the FSU visit and meeting the NIL guy to someone at GA when he was negotiating with them on whether to stay or declare for the draft?

Did GA out FSU?

Considering it was Mimms, the same one Pruitt and Co. supposedly offered/paid $50k or so to and he still wound up with UGA, and now he pulls out of the portal and stays at UGA, I’d say he mentioned it to UGA. This kid is single-handily “responsible” for getting two of UGA’s biggest recruiting competitors on probation.

Most people aren't aware of it because it's not yet widely known, but the NCAA is being investigated by the GAO (Government Accounting Office) for their lack of transparency and obvious under reporting of their revenue. I don't see this working out well for the NCAA.

That's where I was headed with this.

I'm certainly not a fan of the NCAA but it's suspicious how they seem to have gotten tipped off right after Mims visits another program then talks to GA.

Dawgs have a tendency to be dirty.

Yes, please leave us all alone so we can tamper and bribe players......and dun fans to give the program more bribery money for players who may not even become decent college players.....

I’m truly confused on what role the staffs/universities can have in NIL shenanigans. On the latest VQ podcast, the group was asked how they would structure transfers visits if they were in charge and Hubbs, AP and Lewis all said they would simply focus on the depth chart and NIL opportunities/values with the prospective transfer. If the staff can’t introduce them to the NIL collectives or facilitate that meeting, surely Hubbs would know that and wouldn’t even imply it. We know transfers are in the portal for 1 of only 2 reasons; playing time or getting paid. How do you convince a kid to come for a better NIL if they can’t “use” it?

At this point, maybe FSU should sue Mims. Did he conspire with others to damage FSU’s program?

I try not to go overboard into conspiracy theories but our Pruitt foolishness NCAA issues came to light after his visit then his trip to GA.

Now, he has a FSU visit and withdraws from the portal back to GA and FSU has NCAA issues, then he declares for the draft.

If GA is looking to become the new "SEC darling" and snitch on everyone, it'll bite them eventually.

Also, that FSU was offering $18k / month for his services as a lineman makes me wonder what they're paying QBs and WRs down there.

Funny, with all the under-table money given to players over the first 100 years, they finally legalize it, and the coaches/players figure other ways to cheat.

Thank you! Regulating how you pay players? Ridiculous.
