I was walking into a restaurant yesterday for lunch and as I was about to walk in, this old, grizzly looking guy with a rebel flag hat on stopped me. I had stopped at the door to glance down at the newspaper machine to read some of the front page stories. Anyways, the guy asked if there was any good news in there... I said not really. He then pops off with, "I really hope Obama wins this thing... cause Bush ain't worth a s**t..."

This is like the second or third time this has happened to me in the past month or so... where some guy that doesn't fit the sterotypical demographic of an Obama voter has volunteered their support of Obama to me.

I realize that these are just anecdotal events, but to me, this an indication of the frustration the majority of voters have in general of our system. They are desperate for change and something new.

I would have reminded him that Bush isn't running. And who knew the CSA were actually socialists?

That's common. People associate change with a change in party -- even though one Republican or Democrat to the next can be hugely different. It just goes to show how bad off the Bush administration has put Republicans.

It also illustrates how bad the Democrats are at being politicians. They should be ahead by 20 pts.

Just wait until the conventions. I guarantee that Obama sees a 5-8 point bump.

Yeh, that is crazy. But there are also a large amount of people who you would think slept through the past 8 years. McCain will do exactly what Bush has been doing. The comparison is unreal.

"But Obama will tax us to death!!!" Where are people getting this? Obama's tax plan will cut taxes 95%, and will eliminate capitol taxes for small businesses. Lord forbid the struggling middle class has some extra money in their pocket!

Geez... even I don't believe that crap that VBN said. Probably exaggeration, though. Doesn't help you, boy. I still prefer Obama over McCain.
