The Official “Regular Posters of the Basketball Forum” Thread

Extra innings in baseball. thought it was over there for a minute. Bases loaded double play.

Would anyone be in favor of a best of three series in the ncaa tournament? I would do it only in the elite 8 though, that way you don’t ruin the “Cinderella” moments.

It's an interesting idea but I doubt it will ever fly; too much is put into the one championship game plus the tourney is long enough as is.

BaseVols made it to the Regional Final but fell 5-2 to UNC. They would have had to beat UNC a second time had they won.

Overall great season and finally the baseball future looks bright.

Are we going back to the old font on the court? The lady Vols posted a picture that has the old curved font on the court.

Posted this on an old thread that was actually in the Football Forum. A mod might want to move that thread here.

RIP Dan Federman.

Part of an epic Dale Brown, LSU v TN game. His game winning tip in at the buzzer happened after their clock operator was about 5 seconds slow pressing the start button when TN inbounded. While Dale Brown was on the mic telling fans to stay as the end of game would be replayed, Devoe was putting his players on the bus without showering or changing and getting the heck out of Baton Rouge.

I deleted this since it was from 2006 and in the wrong forum (I don’t think we even had a basketball forum back then, lol. Thanks for letting us know. I started a new thread in this forum.

Interesting. I'm wondering if the whole "make all the teams exactly the same" is going away now that Butch Jones is gone. I'm not sure it was 100% him but it seems like since Pruitt took over and made the football uniforms more basic and the basketball team used the throwbacks as their full time home uniform that each team will get to go back to being more independent.

Which if that's true I'm kind of torn on it. On one hand I did like the idea that every team had a more inline look because honestly in the past there were times when some of the basketball and baseball uniforms were ugly. But I can see how each team would like to be at least a little unique. I think as long as they all get the shade of orange right and stick to the 3 official colors (orange, white, and use Smokey Grey as an accent color), it's fine.

Man, I just watched highlights of Mavs' rookie Luka Doncic. He reminds me so much of Larry Bird. Luka's a little shorter, not quite as good of a rebounder or passer, imo. Still, the "one-step/play/thought ahead", basketball IQ and shooting ability are very similar. As is the way, both find the open spot and/or angle, while shooting shots at different releases. Sometimes that leads to ugly looking shots that just go in. They both seem to come up with big steals and offensive rebounds more out of their will than athletic ability. Although, I do think Luka is a little more athletic than Bird. Anybody else, see it ?
