Mothers day was Sunday
Private jets sure are nice and convient to use. Ever flown in one?
Maybe they celebrated on Saturday? Or maybe someone was having a kid? Or maybe there was a funeral? Or maybe there was a gathering?
he should have been there unless one of his family members had a similar type day.
I simply stated he was there for mother’s day, the fact you want to criticize and judge that is beyond pathetic and probably your worst move yet.
especially when you aren't privy to every detail of his social calendar.
Great talent, but just hasn't harnessed it yet. I see nothing so far to suggest he will make a big jump, but I hope I'm wrong. To me, JJ flashes talent but it’s been mostly untapped to this point. Hopefully he finds his mojo this season and starts playing up to his potential and takes a huge step forward. If he doesn’t then it’s time to graduate and move on as younger talent is in the pipeline. I’m rooting for him.
Remember that at any given time, Barnes (or anyone) is acting on much more information than we possibly could have. I say let the man make his own decisions without others deciding what he should do.Well not exactly but graduation is an important day and imo he should have been there unless one of his family members had a similar type day.
This is beyond stupid to be arguing about. We are inventing things to be outraged over. Like or hate Barnes, this is the definition of nitpicking, especially when you aren't privy to every detail of his social calendar.

The point he's making is that in some people's eyes, Barnes is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. He will be criticized for not going to graduation, and he'd be criticized for poor allotment of funds to take a private plane to get to graduation.I think he has in his new contract 10 trips designated for personal use of the a private jet
At this point, I'm in the "Who cares?" camp. I want to keep Barnes because I like what he has done with our program and the culture surrounding it. But, it is clear that his comments re: UCLA, despite their honesty and transparency, have driven a wedge between himself and a vocal portion of our fanbase that nothing short of a national title can dislodge at his current salary. If he thinks flirting with a second top-10 program in six weeks is a good idea, then maybe he just isn't very smart or very self-aware, at least not as much as he appeared to be in January & February when he literally could do no wrong. Not saying their will be anything to this but rumor but here we go again.
Piece of an article on top coaches for the Michigan job:
Big name hunting
There's no reason Manuel shouldn't see if Tony Bennett would be interested in leaving Virginia or if Michigan, for some reason, is the job that finally lures Mark Few away from Gonzaga. Bennett, 49, won this year's national championship. Few, 56, has built Gonzaga into a national powerhouse.
Rick Barnes, while older (65) and less successful in recent years than those two, has won nearly 700 games. He took Tennessee to the Sweet 16 last season and was reportedly ready to leave for UCLA until a buyout got in the way.
Michigan will probably be fishing in NBA waters before they get to Barnes. Not saying their will be anything to this but rumor but here we go again.

No, the buyout was unchanged if RB leaves ($1 million per season left on the deal). Meanwhile, Tennessee is now on the hook for the entire remaining amount if they fire him without cause.
