KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – No. 2 Tennessee plays host to Eastern Kentucky on Tuesday night at Lindsey Nelson Stadium in the final non-conference matchup before starting SEC play this weekend. The Vols are coming off a 5-0 week after a midweek sweep over James Madison and a series sweep against Rhode Island over the weekend. UT has won seven straight entering Tuesday's midweek clash with the Colonels.

UT's No. 2 ranking is tied for the highest ever in program history. Tennessee enters the week ranked in the top 10 of all six major polls.
Dickey Does It Again
For the second time this season, Jared Dickey was named the SEC Freshman of the Week after another impressive week at the plate for the Big Orange. The redshirt freshman led the SEC in hits (11), runs scored (11) and total bases (25) while also tying for the SEC lead with one triple. Dickey had four multi-hit games and recorded at least one base hit in all five of the Vols' games last week, helping lead them to a perfect 5-0 record. The Mount Juliet, Tennessee, native tied his career high with three hits twice and had his first-career two-homer game in Wednesday's victory over James Madison, helping UT tie its single-game program record for home runs with seven. Dickey has reached base in 14 straight games and is tied for the team lead with seven multi-hit games this season. He has recorded at least one hit in 13 of the 15 games he has played in this year. Dickey was also honored by Collegiate Baseball News as one of the publication's 16 National Players of the Week on Monday.
Strikeout Kings
Tennessee's pitching staff has been racking up the strikeouts so far this season. Vols' pitchers totaled 60 strikeouts over their five games last week, including 15 in the second game of Friday's doubleheader against Rhode Island. UT's pitching staff has recorded double-digit strikeouts in 12 of its 16 games this season and ranks fifth nationally in strikeouts per nine innings (12.1).

The Vols hit 13 more home runs last week to increase their NCAA-leading total to 43. Tennessee tied its single-game program record with seven long balls in Wednesday's 10-2 victory over James Madison. Those seven homers came from six different players.
The Big Orange have homered at least once in 15 of its 17 games this season and have hit multiple home runs 10 times already this year. In total, 13 different players have gone deep this season and 12 of those players have hit multiple homers.

Starting with this Friday's SEC opener against South Carolina, an exciting new area will be in place for fans this season. "Friday SEC Fan Fest" will take place for ticketed fans on Pat Head Summitt Street for every Friday SEC contest.
Friday Fan Fests will feature music, giveaways, food/beverage options, VolShop sales locations and Vol Network Sponsor activations. Additionally, VFL Sterl the Pearl will join various SEC weekend games to add to the electricity in Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

The Vols begin conference play with a home series against South Carolina at Lindsey nelson Stadium. The series opener is scheduled for Friday at 6:30 p.m. Saturday's game will start at noon and Sunday's series finale will begin at 1 p.m
