Ball came directly back down on Awaka's head. The sort of trajectory of hitting the ball, not smacking arm/hand and the ball just flailing out in some random direction.

Hit ball first and incidental contact after is not a foul.

I can’t testify to what the official rule is but hacking the shooters shoulder and arm is called a foul 90% of the time.

What I get so frustrated at is basic rule #1 follow your shot. If it is past a 10 footer shot I don’t see anyone around the rim, especially when the three is shot.

My only issue is that strategy is built on extremes - like Heupel's offense - wide splits.

So you either shoot a 3 (high reward shot) or drive for a layup (high% shot).

Yet we seem to be a 3 pt or jump shot team moreso. Maybe just a function of playing Edey and now Dickinson, but it seems Knecht and Santi are the only ones willing to drive all the way.
