The Official Beg Palardy Thread

Even though Gran is gone please still come here. Im begging you

Will be interesting to see, apparently he is all Vol, but we will see soon enough. He committed to UT, not Eddie Gran, but kids have an attachment to the guys that recruited them and for some reason FSU is hotter than anybody right now.

I hope Palardy doesn't leave. If he does we are so screwed. I was really looking forward to him saving our special teams next year. If he does leave tho I think the only other kicker we have kept in contact with is Acosta but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't think that a kicker switching would screw
us. Seen him kick, he has a great leg but we would survive.

This kid is the real deal. He could help resurrect our special teams by himself. If he switches it will screw us. Many on this site believe he could end up being the biggest impact player from this class when his career is over with.

Orgeron is in South Florida with Kiffin today. Palardy isn't going anywhere.

FSU already has a good kicker, and I don't think Palardy even has an offer from FSU. Keep in mind, UF offered him last week and he basically shoved it back in their faces. He will be at UT in 2010.

Kiffin will hire someone with ST exp--unless does anyone know if someone coaching on the staff has run ST before in another gig?

Volquest quotes committed recruit Michael Palardy as saying Gran called to tell him "some things have changed" and he would talk to him to explain. Palardy said he was expecting Kiffin now to be joined by Ed Orgeron.

We're good.

This is the position that woulda helped us beat Bama and ruin their title hopes!!

I want Palardy as much as everyone else, but begging a recruit is kind of low. If he only committed to CEG and not our fine university then he can go elsewhere for all I care. I don't think this is the case here. I believe Palardy committed to UT and will be wearing orange next year.

Losing Gran hurts, as would losing Palardy (although, my gut is that he will stick with his commitment) keep in mind that while Palardy is a stud kicker...he's still just a kicker. Losing him would suck, but it's far from the end of the world.

Palardy himself said he didn't know where this Florida offering him rumor started, but it did not happen. They infact haven't offered him per Palardy.

I'm not taking the "the sky is falling" approach on this(though I could use some maalox after the past few days), but losing Palardy would be big. I don't understand this "he's just a kicker" mentality. See the Bama game for the importance of a kicker. Think field position when you think of a kicker. With all the dangerous return men in the SEC, imagine the luxury of a kicker that can negate those guys by putting it in the endzone. Even General Neyland stressed the importance of kicking. Palardy isn't "just a kicker", he's a spectacular kicker and we need him. If he decommits, the program will survive and move on, but our progression takes a huge hit. And just how long will fans be happy with 7-5 seasons? Kiffin cannot afford to lose difference makers like this kid. Tennessee fans, myself included, are notoriously impatient when it comes to our football. We want to be on top of the mountain, and we want to be there yesterday.

If you want to beg someone to come I would say the OT Henderson, we need lineman worse than we will need a kicker
