Chris Lofton scored 31 points against Kentucky in 2006, this tied the record for the most points ever scored by a Vol at Rupp Arena. Lofton also made seven 3-pointers and scored seven points in the final two minutes to secure the win.

Lofton was Peterson's best recruit at Tennessee and he and Jajuan Smith were a nice Christmas package for Pearl.

On December 17, 2018, Admiral Schofield earned SEC Player of the week recognition for the second consecutive week. Schofield totaled 29 points and 11 rebounds to power the Volunteers to a 102-92 victory at Memphis. He shot .667 from the field, connected on four of eight 3-point attempts and made all nine of his free-throw attempts. The victory also marked the second consecutive game in which Schofield scored more than 20 points in the second half.
