Dwayne Goodrich anchored the Tennessee secondary from 1996 to 1999, compiling 137 tackles—including three for loss—along with one forced fumble, six fumble recoveries, and 22 pass breakups. He also notched 13 interceptions, returning three for touchdowns. Goodrich was a key contributor to the Vols’ back-to-back SEC Championships in 1997 and 1998 and played a pivotal role in their national title win, earning Defensive MVP honors in the 1999 Fiesta Bowl. He capped off his career with All-SEC recognition in 1999.

From 1999 to 2002, Leonard Scott racked up 1,788 yards on 77 kickoff returns. He added 328 receiving yards with 3 touchdowns and contributed 136 rushing yards with 2 more scores. Known as one of the fastest players in Tennessee football history, Scott was also a key part of the Vols' 2001 NCAA Outdoor Track Championship and the 2002 Indoor Championship teams.
