"Oh my gosh! Obama said he will have more authority on the issue of military affairs after the elections !! He is surrendering to the Russians and giving away the country !! "

"Oh my gosh! The health care law is going to be struck down and Obama says that would be wrong because it is constitutional! Clearly, he is threatening to have the Supreme Court executed!"

"Oh my gosh! Obama says that if he had a son he'd be black! Clearly, he is trying to start a race war! "

"Oh my gosh! Obama says we should be tolerant towards all religious faiths under the First Amendment! Clearly, he is calling for Sharia law in downtown Spokane !"

For the next 7 months, go ahead and insert the rest of your petty, exaggerated, false, and feigned outrage crap here and quit gumming up the board with it.

Somewhat. There is so much important stuff to talk about. The budget deficit, social spending, housing, education reform, long term fix for health care, research and development, and infrastructure.

Why the GOP has to repeatedly offer up these little Snicker bite size fake issues is beyond me. (Although it might explain why their candidate is such an uninspiring gaffe-prone automatron as Romney).

The only way this gets more ironic is if Rosie O'Donnell joins VN and starts a thread on nutrition, beauty tips and men.

Here, let me explain what ACLG is trying to say.

(a picture is worth a thousand words.)

I don't know why he is trying to make such a big deal out of this, Obama will issue his standard lefthanded proclamation and the media will sweep it under the rugh soon enough.

Carney will deflect and change the subject.

I'm not lecturing so much as wondering aloud whether the GOP really expects to win with talking points often about such petty things, clothed in obviously exaggerated alarm, and which appeal only to their base, which will already vote against Obama.

Just seems like a poorly thought out strategy, is all.

You may be on to something. May be better to just let him continue to wet the bed.

Sure. But even then you'd expect the machine, independent of the candidates,to come up with something more .... substantive? broader appeal? relevant? interesting?

Romney managed to get over the 50 % mark in one place last night, DC, where Romney wasn't on the ballot. Otherwise, he could barely win Wisconsin despite enormously spending and dwarfing what Santorum could put together.

Fact is, the base is indifferent to him, at best. Some will flat out not support him and write someone in. Any third party candidacy would make Obama a virtual lock. And even absent that, Romney's own party is so ho hum, it's laughable.

I expected a much more formidable GOP nominee and a much more dignified primary. Whole thing is just weird.

There is no formidable candidate to put up. That's the sad thing. We are voting for dumb and dumber right now.

It's a primary to run against an incumbent where the A listers stay on the sidelines and we get the likes of Kerry, Dole and Mondale. Is it really surprising the way this is working out?

Only because of the viciousness of the hatred in some quarters.
