The Official Philadelphia Eagles Thread

You're insane lol. You are acting like Marriota was projected as the greatest QB prospect to come through the draft in years.

He wasn't, but neither was RG3. Including 2016, Mariota was one of the two best QB prospects in the last four drafts.

It's madness alright

Not a great sign when a team in desperate need of a QB is so willing to essentially trade Wentz away. The Eagles are basically banking their next two drafts on their scouts being right about Wentz as a franchise QB, when Cleveland's scouts thought the opposite.

We don't even have a 2nd rounder this year......such a bad trade. This is Pederson and he will have to fall on this sword that is Wentz. Makes even less sense to trade up for a QB when you just got done giving away a boatload of guaranteed money to Brandford and Daniel.

I'm okay with it. I wouldn't have done it if I was running the team but I get why it had to be done.

We were going nowhere with Bradford at the wheel.

If Wentz does well... success.

If not, I've survived this long without a super bowl title (I didn't actually earn) to lord over someone's head.

Hope he is worth it. Wow. I personally think he is and Cleveland will end up losing this trade in 3 years.

None of the QBs in this draft are considered "franchise QBs". If you are going to reach like this, this isn't the draft to do it in. It's a bad, bad trade.

Agreed, but to be fair, there are fewer and fewer "good QB drafts" now. 2013 and 2014 were even worse than this one.

Bradford can get bent. He signed a 2 year deal.

So unprofessional.

Well I'm his defense, they used him to hedge their bets in getting a top pick in the draft. Don't have a problem with him being pissed about it, but he had to have seen this coming......everyone else did. He has absolutely no leverage here though and he can go ahead and sit out and the Eagles can fine the **** out of him and let Daniel run the team for this year that was going to be a throw away year anyway.

That's what bothers me.... he stated that he didn't have a concern about the team drafting a qb. And then we get this whiny garbage.

He says it's not about being afraid of competition but that he wanted the opportunity to be the long term solution.

....who the hell would stake the next 5 years on him at this point?

Maybe I'm being too simplistic but I feel if he had a better offer somewhere, he would have taken it.

They don't call him Samantha Bradford for nothin

I don't see anybody trading for that contract.

Whoever gets him is only on the hook for his base salary (7mil) and his roster bonuses. His cap number next year is 5 million.

The Eagles would have to eat an 11 million hit either way so he's pretty tradeable.
